Shen Meihua | Art profile

In 1969, sh was born in Yixing purple sand family;

Since childhood she followed aunt master Shen Juhua to study purple sand art;

After then, she learned from uncle master Li Changhong, continued to study the traditional purple sand teapot technique;

In 2011, she graduated from the advanced study class of Chinese arts and crafts masters, which was held by Academy of Fine Arts of Tsinghua University.

The works with its famous traditional craft techniques and rational inheritance, inherit family and women with the unique sensitivity to innovation, known as a model with the traditional fusion.

The works have been awarded many times in the arts and crafts exhibitions at home and abroad.

2001 - 2010

In 2001, the work of "Taihu Spray" won the Bronze Award in the third session of "Chinese arts and crafts quality exposition";

In 2002, the work of "Acacia Series” won a silver medal in the fourth session of "Chinese arts and crafts quality exposition";

In 2002, the Chinese young and mid-aged ceramic artists collection of fine goods Grand Prix, and the purple sand "eggplant" pot was awarded a silver medal.

In 2003, "Initiation Lotus” and “Auspicious Clouds as One Wishes” were selected into Jiangsu handicrafts exposition;

In 2004, the second session of China Wuxi Taihu Exposition - Chinese arts and crafts quality exhibition, purple sand "De Zhong" pot, won the gold medal;

In 2004, Cross-strait (Fujian) high quality agricultural products trade meeting, China (Fujian) Tea Exposition, "Tea Furniture Grand Prix", purple sand "round  chrysanthemum" pot, won the gold medal;

In 2010, "Jingxi Spray" and "the Best Plum Blossom" were collected by the Art Institute of East China Normal University

2011 - 2017

In 2011, The purple sand pot " Gao Dezhong" was collected by the Chinese arts and Crafts Gallery;

In 2011, Dalian spring tea and purple sand art exhibition of "Xinghai Cup" excellent works, purple sand  “Tuoying" pot, won the gold medal;

In 2013, purple sand "peace bamboo" pot was permanently collected by  the Jiangyin Museum;

In 2014,  purple sand pot “sun rises in the east” won the the gold medal in the session of my favorite purple sand artists and works of TV network contest, which hosted by the Henan Museum, Jiangsu Ceramic Industry Association, and Henan TV.

In 2014, the purple sand “half moon” pot after review by the expert committee into the exhibition of the Chinese Contemporary Arts and Crafts Biennale, which hosted by Chinese Art Research Institute, Chinese Art and Craft Gallery, Chinese National Museum, (the work was cooperated with Chinese Master of Arts and Crafts, and Chinese ceramic art master Li Changhong, engraved by master Li Changhong)

In 2015, the purple sand “light of civilization" pot, won Tiangong award of the purple sand teapot ;

In 2015, "the light of civilization" purple sand tea set represents China to participate in the Milan World Expo in Italy;

In 2016, "the purple sand of the light of civilization pot" was selected into the Chinese Contemporary Arts and crafts Biennale Exhibition;

In 2016, the "no zen pot, auspicious clouds nine section" won the silver prize in the second session of Jiangsu province  (International) art fair;

In 2017, took part in "Pick Up Flowers—Da Yin’s teachers and students work exhibition of returning to hometown".
